21 Before 21: An Update

Hello Lovelies!
Since I was on my blogging break during my birthday last month, I wasn't able to post my 21 by 21 list. But I have been working on it, so today I wanted to share my 21 Before 21 list with you and give you a little bit of an update at the same time!

20 Before 20

Hello Lovelies!
Well, what can I say, the fact that my birthday was in March and I'm just now posting this isn't very promising...

I was looking through my drafts today and I realized that for some reason I never posted my 20 Before 20 list!
Plan a trip.
Visit somewhere new.
Read 20 books for pleasure.
Purchase my first pair of high heels.
Lose 30 pounds.
Get my nose pierced.
Get a small tattoo.
Buy a new car,
Start apartment hunting.
Pay off my credit card debt.
Save $400.
Start college.
Maintain a good GPA in my first semester back in a traditional school setting.
Visit a trampoline park.
Go to my first concert.
Be able to run a mile.
Get a real haircut instead of a trim. (Maybe go red too!)
Say yes more!
Actually do what's on my list!

I'm gonna try to do an update in a few months to show my progress, I've actually crossed a few off already! It's go time! Can I complete my 20 Before 20 challenge before March 13, 2017!
Have you attempted a challenge like this before?

Let me know below!

I'm 18, Now What? College? Gap Year?

Hello lovelies!
As some of you may know my 18th birthday was on March 13th and since then I've been thinking a lot. I'm an adult now, but I don't feel any different.

I've been thinking over the past few weeks about what I want to do with my life, and honestly I have no freaking idea what I want to do!

Do I want to go to college this year? Or Should I take a gap year?

The problem isn't that I don't want to go to college, I do, but I don't want to settle and go somewhere that I'm not going to be happy at.  I only applied to four colleges, and I'm only seriously considering two of them, one I've been accepted to, and one I'm still waiting to hear back from.

Here's what really got me thinking, I got my financial aid package for the college I've been accepted to a few weeks ago and it looks like for freshman year alone I'm going to have to take out a $15,000 loan just to attend. Next year will be worse because my mom just re-married. I don't want to be in debt for the rest of my life, and if I attend that college by the time I graduate I'll be over $50,000 in debt. I don't like that and since I'm thinking about going to Graduate school or Medical school after getting my bachelor's it makes the decision harder.

So what's the plan?

I'm thinking about taking a gap semester or gap year to get my finances in check and once I do I'm going to move to Nashville, Tennessee. Once I get there I'll spend a few months working and then enroll in college. If I get rejected from Belmont University, then I plan on applying to Nashville State Community College, it'll be cheaper and then later on I can transfer to a bigger school.

My other option is staying in my hometown for a year or two, attend the local community college, save some money, and then transfer out of state. However, I really don't want to do that, I want to be in Nashville, I've known for years that that's where I want to be and I want to make that happen.

Honestly I don't know what's going to happen right now, I can't predict the future and there's nothing more I can do to convince Belmont to accept me. I just have to wait and see what happens. I have to let go and let God, it truly is up to Him at this point.

So my questions is, I'm 18, now what?

10 Things to Let Go of Before Your Next Birthday

Letting go can be hard, but once you let go of the things holding you back you realize just how freeing it is. This article from Marc and Angel Hack Life lists 50 Things to Let Go of Before Your Next Birthday.
Today I want to highlight 10 of these that can be benefit you this year. I decided to post this today because today is my birthday, and to me it just seemed like the perfect time to share this post with you.

1. Let go of feeling like you aren't making progress fast enough.
You're wasting time worrying about not progressing in life, instead of worrying try working harder to get where you want to be.

2. Let go of the idea that you have too much to lose.
If you keep up with this mindset then you're never going to accomplish anything in life. Life is full of risks, sometimes you take a big risk and fall on your ass, but when you fall, you gotta get back up, and keep trying.

3. Let go of worrying about everyone else's opinions of your life.
It's YOUR life, stop letting other people's opinions get to you. Do what YOU want to do, not what other people want you to do. Yes listen to their suggestions, if they really are trying to be helpful, but don't let them make decisions for you.
It's your life, you have to take over and take control of it sometime!

4. Let go of making the same mistakes over and over.
If you're making the same mistakes over and over, then you obviously didn't learn your lesson the first time. The point of making mistakes is to learn from them, if you choose not to learn from them, then you're just going to keep making the same mistakes over and over again.

5. Let go of one-sided relationships.
Last year I decided to let go of people who weren't really there for me. They would send the occasional "We need to hang out sometime", but they never really seemed to put a real effort into the relationship. After I made this realization I cut them off, and once I did I felt so much better, I no longer felt like the back-up friend who was there when their other friends canceled on them, I felt free for the first time in a long time.

6.  Let go of those who have never been there for you.
This kinda ties into #5, holding on to people who are never there for you can really hurt you, letting go of those people is so much easier than you think, and once you do, you no longer feel hurt when they aren't there and you needed them.

7. Let go of ugly words.
Stop putting yourself down, no matter what anyone says you're beautiful.

8. Let go of the need to always feel comfortable.
I'm not going to lie, I've always felt the need to be comfortable, and because of that I turned down amazing opportunities, and now I regret it.
Sometimes it takes being out of your comfort zone, to be able to really live life, and discover who you are.

9. Let go of yesterday.
Yesterday is in the past, there is nothing you can do to change what happened,  no matter how much you want to. The only thing you CAN do is move on, and learn from the past.

10. Let go of the idea that it's too late to start over.
You can always start over, it's never too late to ask for a second chance at life. You may feel alone, and it may take time to get your life back on track, but it's never too late to take back your life and make it better.

That's all for today, I'll be back tomorrow with 5 Words!
