Guest Post: How to Cope With an Existential Crisis

Hello Lovelies!
Last week Lucy from BuzzEssay contacted me wanting to do a guest post on the blog. The last time I had a guest blogger was last year, so I was really excited to see what she had in mind. So today she is writing about how to cope with and existential crisis.

November Goals

Hello lovelies, Happy November!!!! Can you believe that there's less than 60 days till 2015? I'm freaking out, I'm happy because it's now socially acceptable to watch Christmas movies and listen to Christmas carols loudly, but I'm also kinda scared. I have so much to get done over the next two months, and I'm not ready, I'm really not.

Finish English 2 Part 1 & Part 2
Finish Geometry Part 1 & Part 2
Make final college app decisions
Finish college app essays.
Finish all college apps.
Read six books.
Try to start exercising again.
Use MyFitnessPal for 15 days.
Write at least 5,000 for NaNoWriMo.

Finish English 2 Part 1 & Part 2
I have to read one book, do roughly ten writing assignments, and take seven quizzes, it's not going to be easy but I can do it, I've already started two of the writing assignments, and I'll take one quiz tonight, so I'm off to a great start.

Finish Geometry Part 1 & Part 2
I have eleven quizzes and one big test to finish and then I'll be done, it'll be pretty easy all I have left to do are the quizzes so not much else other than review.

Make final college app decisions
For the most past I've made most of my decisions, however I do have three schools that I'm still unsure of, so I'm going to give it a few more weeks then make my mind up.

Finish college app essays.
I think I'm pretty lucky, only three or four of my colleges require an essay, so compared to others I'm definitely lucky.

Finish all college apps.
I have two full college applications to finish and half of four that need to be finished. One of those I have short answer questions and a few other details to finish and the other two I just have the essay and then they'll be complete.

Read six books.
I think I'm a little in over my head, I requested a lot of Christmas-y books from Netgalley and I have 18 books that I need to read and review that will be releasing over the next month and a half.

Try to start exercising again.
My ankle still isn't completely healed, but it's getting better everyday and most days I hardly feel any pain at all, so this month I'm going to try to get back into a workout routine!

Use MyFitnessPal for 15 days.
I've noticed that when I use MyFitnessPal I do better with my diet and I lose more weight, so this month I want to try to get back into the habit of using it.

Write at least 5,000 for NaNoWriMo.
I WANT to write 50,000 words and win NaNoWriMo, but I know I have so much to do this month that it's not likely that I'll reach 50,000, so I'm setting a personal goal of 5,000, last month I managed 4,000 words, so I'm hoping I can write more than that!

Well that's all for today! What goals have you set for yourself this month? Let me know below or leave a link to your blog post!

How To: Write A Paper

Hey y'all, since the new school year has started in most places by now, I thought I'd share some of my tips for writing papers this semester! In school my favorite subjects have always been History and English, I've passed all of my English classes with no less than a final grade of 97 and in one class my final grade was a 100, so I'd say writing papers are definitely one of my strong suits.

Below I've listed the process I go through when I'm writing a paper and I also included some links to help you out!

1. Write a good thesis statement.
2. Outline. Write one sentence for each paragraph.
3. Research. Find evidence to support your thesis.
4. Add some fluff. Add information and facts to support your thesis.
5. Proofread.
6. Edit.
7. Ask a friend or teacher to read it and make suggestions.
8.  Let it sit for a few hours, then go back and re-read it with a clear mind.
9. Make final edits.
10. Turn it in, sacrifice a chicken and hope for the best!

If you're still having trouble writing your paper here are some links to help you out!

August Goals Update

Hey y'all, I hope you're having a great week! This month has been crazy, with me moving, not having internet, and being sick I really didn't accomplish everything I wanted to accomplish.
However, I will say one thing I'm proud of is the fact that I finally finished my new blog design. I started working on my blog design back in June and it's just been all over the place.

Over the past few months, I've experimented with a lot of different colors, backgrounds, and headers, but in the end I realized that a simple white background is what I love best. I also designed a blog header that I really love and I installed blog buttons that were super easy to install!

So what do you think? Let me know below what you think of my new blog design!

Sign up for the September 13 ACT test date.
Review Algebra 1 Part 1 & Part 2 and take final exam!
Start working on admissions essays.
Plan Nashville trip.
Start and finish English 2 Part 1 & Part 2
Clean out my closet before moving!
Read 3 books.
Finish new blog design!
Find a Neurologist and schedule an appointment.
Lose 5 pounds!

5 out of 10!

Review Algebra 1 Part 1 & Part 2 and take final exam!  &  Start and finish English 2 Part 1 & Part 2
This month I actually took a break from school. It wasn't intentional, but it was a much-needed and well-deserved break. I've been working all year long and I haven't taken any breaks, I've even worked through holidays and weekends! So this month was my break month, I started back on Monday and honestly I feel so much better, my brain really needed a rest!
Obviously I didn't get either school related goal done but I'm okay with that. I also found out I won't be able to start working on my next English class quite just yet. I was hoping my school would let me start working on my English class while I finished up my other classes, but they won't, so it looks like September will be Algebra and Geometry month! Yikes!!!

Start working on admissions essays.
I also didn't get to start on this, not having any internet for pretty much the entire month has really screwed up my plans, so I think I'm going to start writing my essays this weekend.

Plan Nashville trip.
No internet= no planning getting done!

Lose 5 Pounds!
Ha! I knew this was a long shot when I made this goal, I just didn't realize how impossible this was going to be this month. Between moving houses and also being in bed sick for two weeks, I didn't lose a pound.

Sp that is all for this months goals update, I hope you enjoyed it!

Lori

Weight Loss Monday's: Week 38

I would say last week was a pretty successful week, and I hope that continues into this week.
Last week I took my first English exam since I started back into my classes, and I made a 90. Today I'll be taking my second English exam, and I also have to write a political speech, that everyone seems to hate, so this week should definitely be fun.

I did very well with my diet last week, usually I'll have a soda once or twice a week, but I didn't have any last week. I did however have a  cup of hot chocolate a few times last week. I hardly had any chocolate, I've kinda just lost interest in it, and I did pretty well with everything else.

I didn't really improve in the exercise area, but I think I definitely did more than I did the week before. The reason behind this is that I've just been spending so much time studying, and doing my school work, that I'm having a hard time finding time to exercise.

  Any results?

Weight Lost Last Week:  2 Pounds
Total Weight Loss:  14  Pounds

I was so happy when I saw the scale, and I just really hope it stays off, and that I can keeping losing weight like this.

So that is all for today, I shall be posting again tomorrow, Wednesday, and Friday, so be sure to check back for that. Stay Creative, I'll post again very very soon.
                                        XOXO,

My Online High School Experience

Today's post is about something I've never really talked about on here, but I decided today was the day to go for it and bring the subject up.  My big secret is that I don't go to public school, private school, or even a normal tradition high school, I attend  high school online, and I love every minute of it.

In all my tuition was $777.00, that's for my entire four years of high school, it includes all of my books, free tutoring, and when i finish my program I will get a class ring. I go to high school through Ashworth College, my school is called James Madison High School. I started JMHS in August 2011, and because it was the beginning of the school year they has a discount for tuition.

Before I get any further I would like to point out that you can enroll in JMHS at any time of the year, I just included when I enrolled so you would know when to look out for the discount they have every year, at the start of a traditional school year.
I enrolled in the College Prep program, and it is 24 courses divided into two parts, I'm hoping to graduate next year. If I do graduate next year then I will have graduated a year before my class in my hometown.
The great thing about Ashworth College and JMHS is that they are flexible with tuition, I couldn't pay in full, so I made $40.00 a month payments and it was paid off in January.
Some may question the quality of my education, but I don't mind answering their questions because I know how much my life has improved since I enrolled in this program. Ashworth College and JMHS are both Nationally and Regionally Accredited.
If I hadn't decided to enroll in JMHS I would be attending one of the lowest scoring high schools in Kentucky, I will give them credit for raising their testing scores over the past few years, but by no means would I have gotten a quality education.  At the high school I was supposed to attend you can't take AP classes until your Junior year.
By choosing JMHS I've taken my education into my own hands, it's all me, I'm the teacher, I go at my own pace, and I'm proud of that. I wouldn't recommend JMHS to everybody though because you do everything yourself, if you need to contact a teacher you can, but so far I haven't had to. I read through my lessons, study my notes, take quizzes, write essays, and take exams. Quizzes are computer graded but essays and some exams are teacher graded.
I love that everything is online, I don't have to wait for textbooks to arrive, and I can start a new class as soon as I finish the one I was working on.  It really truly is amazing what you can do through this school. I've grown so much, and learned so much from this experience.
I know I'm missing out on normal high school experiences, but I don't care. I'm just happy that when I graduate I can attend an actual ceremony they hold every year and I can walk across a stage to accept my diploma, that's all I want, and it will happen.
If someone were to ask me if I would recommend Ashworth College or JMHS I would say yes immediately, because I know that it can change lives. It may not be right for everyone, you have to be focused and determined because there are no deadlines, and you don't have to finish a course by a certain date you could take 6 weeks, 6 months, or even a year to finish the class.

Overall I love this school and I would never change my decision, if you want more info or have questions, either leave a comment below, or email me, I'd be happy to answer.
So that's all for today, I'll have my usual post up Friday.
                                               Stay Creative,
                                                                  Lori Ann
