Another year is coming to a close, and to be honest I don't know where the year went. Time just keeps speeding up and I wish it would slow down a little.

June Goals

Hello Lovelies!
I hope you all had a great weekend! I can't believe it's already June, it feels like yesterday we were celebrating the new year, and now it's almost halfway gone!
This month I'm focusing on finishing up as much schoolwork as I can, the last few months I haven't been able to stay on schedule because out internet sucks and I only have internet for two or three weeks out of the month. I'm really hoping that by the end of the month we'll have a new internet provider, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, regardless of what happens my main goal this month is to be productive and work as hard as I possibly can. School is still my main focus, but I'm also hoping to start working this month so I'm going to have to work on my time management once that happens.

Here's my goals for June!
Finish Vocabulary Studies Part 2.
I should be able to finish this by the end of next week, if my internet will work with me and not go out for days at a time like it has been here lately.

Finish College Prep Algebra II Part 1.
I just started this class so it's a long shot that I'll finish it this month, but I'm gonna try!

Start & Finish College Prep American Government.
I just got this class opened, but it looks like it's going to be a pretty easy class and I'm looking forward to getting it done and over with.

Start & Finish College Prep Economics.
This one also looks to be pretty easy.

Work on better time management.
I really need to work on this this month, since I have such terrible internet, I really need to find ways to spend my time more wisely than I have been.

Read 5 books.
Last month I didn't read that much, so this month I want to read more, I have so many ARCs that I need to read and I've decided I'm not allowing myself to request or accept any invitations for more ARCs till I get my current list read.

Lose 3 pounds.
I want to do a weight loss update later this month, I haven't done one at all this year, so I think it's time.

Find a job.
I'm really hoping to have a job by the end of the week, so fingers crossed!

Open a bank account.
As soon as I get my first check I'm opening a new bank account.

XoXo,
Lori

5 Things You Should Start Making Time For

Okay, so I still didn't finish my book, so no book review this week either. But that's okay I always make sure I have a little somethin' waiting around to be posted just in case.

I made this list, 5 Things You Should Start Making Time For, a few weeks ago, and I've been wanting to share it with you, but I hadn't found the right spot. Since it's now been two weeks and I still haven't finished my book, I'd say I definitely need to make time for #3!

I think #1 is really important because society and the media is always telling us to do for others before ourselves. But I think it's really important to take time to care for yourself, because if you don't then you're going to end up sick, tired, and burnt-out (burned-out??).
So that's all for today's post, let me know what you think in the comments! What do you think people should make more time for?

Lori

10 New Semester Study Tips

It's a new year, and that means a new semester at school. This post is probably being posted in the middle of the changing semesters, because I know some schools only have 2 semesters, and others have 3 or 4. But regardless of where it falls for you, it's never too late to learn more efficient ways to get more studying done.

1. Study in a quiet, distraction-free location.
  - I usually study during the day because I'm home alone with no distractions or I study late at night when everyone is asleep. You need to find what works best for you, whether its at the library, or in the park.

2. Study anywhere but your bed!
 - I always sit at my desk to study cause let's be honest studying in bed will get you nowhere cause your gonna wanna sleep. So get outta bed, even if it means sitting in the floor.

3. Highlight and use color-coding.
   - Highlighters are my best friends. I use to highlight everything right after I made the notes, but that didn't really help when it came time to study. I find it easier to study if I wait to highlight when I review at the end of the week.

4. Take Breaks.
  -  In order to get your work done without stressing yourself out, remember to take breaks. I usually work for an hour, then take a 10-20 minute break. Then I got back to work. You need to start working on your most important assignment first, and whenever you feel yourself starting to get stressed put it down, and work on something else and go back to it later.

5.  Make Time for it.
 -  Make time every week to go over what you've learned. Spending two hours a week reviewing what you learned that week, is going to keep you from stressing come time for finals. Think of it this way, if you review for every class now, later you can spend more time studying for the test you think you might fail.

6.  Get Organized.
  - Take five minutes everyday to clean up any mess, and organize any papers that may be out of place. Do this now, and when you need them you won't be panicking thinking you lost them.

7. Talk to your Teachers or Professors.
  - Start the new semester off by talking to your teachers or professors. Talk to them about your concerns, and find out what they expect of you. Plus getting on their good side now will help later if you need an extension on a paper.

8. Turn Off Your Cell Phone!
   - Ugh, this is where I run into trouble, I always have my phone beside me, and it distracts me. So I think this semester we ALL need to put away the phones and concentrate.

9. Make a Plan.
  - Since I'm an online student I make my own schedule, so in the past and to this day I struggle with making enough time to study. That is until here recently when I started planning out what I would do everyday, since then I've got more work done, so try it, it really does work.

10. Don't Panic.
   - If you find yourself getting close to a deadline, with not nearly enough time to finish, panicking is the worst thing you could possibly do. If you start to panic, you're setting yourself up for failure, because then you're gonna work too quickly, make mistakes, and turn in shitty work!

So there are my 10 tips for studying, I hope you're able to put them to good use this semester, or even next semester.
                                                     Stay Creative,
                                                                     Lori Ann

5 Words: Week 20

Today marks week 20 of my 5 Words series, it seems like only yesterday I started my blog. This year seems to just be flying by, and I feel like I've barely accomplished anything.
So enough with that let's get right to this weeks 5 Words....

Fez- A brimless felt cap in the shape of a truncated cone, usually red with a black tassel.
Fief-  A landed estate held under feudal tenure.
Quay- A wharf or artificial landing-place on the shore of a harbor or projecting into it.
Obdurate- Impassive feelings of humanity or pity.
Octogenarian- A person between eighty and ninety years old.

So that's all for this week, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.

Weight Loss Monday's: Week 11

So it's a new week, and I'm super excited lots to say, and not enough time to write. First of all no I haven't lost any weight, but I made a plan, and I'm going to share it with you.
My diet has been really good, I haven't been eating much. All I had yesterday was 6 french toast cinnamon sticks for breakfast, and a bowl of spaghetti for dinner. I'm having trouble sleeping which is what has caused my appetite to be pretty nonexistent.
Exercise has been good and it's going to get better. I got my gym membership back last week, I haven't got to go yet, but I've been working from home. Saturday I spent rearranging my entire room, so now I have a lot more room for exercise, and I can also get to my stationary bike with ease.
Also discovered a new fitness plan. Now I know the Kardashian sisters aren't very likable to most people, but I do like Khloe and follow her on Twitter. Last week she tweeted a photo, it's a  30 day squat challenge. Unfortunately I can't put the photo up here, but she did re-tweeted another version that one of her followers is doing, it's pretty much the same, but a little easier. I can put it up so here it is.

So there's that, I'm currently on day 3, and my legs and butt are on fire. But it will be worth it in the end, I'm hoping I can stick to this, but I'm not sure if I will be able to do over 200 squats a day, maybe 100, but I will work on it.
Aside from that I've also been working with some light weights trying to tone up my arms. And I've also been trying to stretch when I can remember.
Okay so that's all for my diet and exercise portion of today's post. Time to move on.
I went to the doctor on Friday because my allergies have been really bad, so she changed my allergy medicine, and so far I've been doing great on it. I feel better, obviously I don't feel great, but the dust, and pollen count are high, so it's gonna be a while before I feel my best again.
Well that's all for today, I hope you all have a good week, I know I'm going to be busy. Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,

Hair Care Tips and Advice

Hello there, so a few weeks ago we talked about Skin Care, and this week we're gonna talk about Hair Care. Hair is the only thing that we Women hate, and despise, but also love, that wont ruin our body's. We love it on our heads and hate it everywhere else.
The biggest misconception women have about their hair is that they can make it grow longer, faster. You can't, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we just can't. Just like it's in our genes on how tall we're gonna be, it's also in our genes on how fast our hair grows. We can't change it, not yet anyway.
Our hair isn't living, it's dead. The only part that could even be considered living is what's directly attached to our scalp. But once it leaves the scalp it's dead.
Today I want to give a little advice on Hair Care, share some of my secrets to getting long hair, tell you what products I use, and also a major don't in my book.

1. Don't Get It Cut every 6-8 Weeks- This is the number one thing I've never understood. But in a way I sort of do, hair stylists know that we want our hair to grow fast, so they say to come every 6-8 weeks to get more business. Get It? They only say that cause they know you'll listen, and it means more money for them.
The reasoning behind this theory of mine. Our hair only grows 1/4 an inch a month, your basically going every month and a half. Most hair stylists nowadays don't now the difference between a trim, and an inch. Therefore, it's going to take you much longer for you to actually grow your hair out. I have hair nearly to my bum, and I use to only go every 6 months, this year I've went every 3-6 months.
2. Use Very Little Heat- Or if you do use heat, use a heat spray. I use either Got 2 B Guardian Angel Flat Iron Balm or the Aussie Heat Spray (Not sure of the name). They're both affordable, and work great, the Got 2 B smells amazing, and leaves your hair really shiny. I have naturally really straight hair, so I usually only use a straightener when i'm having a bad hair day, or want it to be even straighter. I also occasionally use a hair dryer, but not very often, maybe 1-2x a month.
3.Diet/Exercise- While you can't make your hair grow faster, you can make it grow healthier. Diet and exercise are very important in your hairs health. Your diet insures you get the right nutrients for strong healthy hair, and exercise helps your scalp/skin rid itself of toxins.
4.Don't Stress- This ties into number 3, when your stressed you don't eat and exercise right. And when you don't get proper diet nutrients, or exercise, your hormones get out of wack. By controlling your stress, you can help control you hormones.
Some say scalp massages help, whether or not they do I have no idea
5.Time- It takes time, just like it took time for you to grow, it takes your hair time too. It's taken me 3 years, and my hair has just now got close to my bum. You have to give your body a chance to produce the hormones, especially if your stressed or your diet/exercise is poor.

So there you go, my 5 tips and my advice for growing your hair stronger. Let me know what you think, and if there's anything you want me to write about, I'm open to ideas. Well that's all for today, have a productive week and a safe weekend.
 xoxo,
 Lori
