Influenster L'Oreal Paris Ultimate Straight VoxBox Review

Hello Lovelies!
Today I will be reviewing the L'Oreal Paris Ultimate Straight Voxbox from Influenster! I recevied this box about a month ago, I've been using it since then and I think I'm ready to do a review.

In this box I received four full size products from the L'Oreal Paris Advance Haircare Ultimate Straight System.
Photo from Amazon.
I really like the shampoo in this set, it is my favorite and I've used it the most.  The truth is I already have super straight hair so this product isn't really for me. These products smell great and my hair feels and looks clean all day, which is hard for me to find because my hair is oily.
Normally by the end of the day my hair looks so bad it's up in a ponytail, but that didn't happen on days when I used this shampoo.

Honestly I feel like this is the worst product out of the whole system. I don't think it really did anything for me, but if you have dry, wavy/curly hair it might work for you.

99% of the time I don't use an in-shower conditioner, I prefer leave-on conditioners. Sadly this conditioner didn't  make me want to start using conditioner in the shower again. It didn't weigh my hair down and it was easier to brush out, but it didn't wow me.

I think this was my least favorite out of the whole system, I didn't see any results.

I think that these products are for girls that live in humid climates like me would love. It's not going to make all of your hair problems go away, nothing will, but overall the products do work.

So that's all for today's post! Have you tried any of the products mentioned above?
 Let me know below!
XoXo,
Lori

Disclaimer: I received all products for free from Influenster in exchange for an honest review.

Ulta Haul + Mini Reviews

Hello lovelies!
Over the past month I've bought a lot of new goodies and today I wanted to share them with you, along with my thoughts on them!

Last month I placed two orders from Ulta and I'm planning on placing a new order this week! Out of everything that I bought I only had two products that disappointed me, but I'll explain that more down below!

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Prime Blur + Redness Control Primer $9.99
This is the first primer I've ever used so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I really do love this product and once it runs out I plan on repurchasing.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation $7.99
I was nervous about trying this foundation because it's new and there aren't that many reviews on it yet, but it was a gamble that paid off well. I love the formula of this foundation, it stays on all day and the color doesn't oxidize.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer $8.99
I had seen reviews on this concealer for years and I finally decided to try it. So far I really like this concealer, the coverage is buildable, it doesn't crease, it feels really good and it doesn't irritate the sensitive skin around my eyes.

Urban Decay Naked 24/7 Glide-On Double-Ended Eye Pencil $16.00
Honestly, this was probably the one I was most excited about and it's also the biggest disappointment. I was expecting great things from this eyeliner and I do love it, the formula is great and it lasts all day, I just don't like that there's not much product and I seem to be going through it really fast.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Mascara $6.99
So far I've only used this once, but I really like it and I can't wait to keep using it. The only downside is that I wasn't paying attention when I bought it and so I ended up getting the one that isn't waterproof.

Nivea Lip Butter Vanilla & Macadamia Kiss $2.99
I love Nivea lip products, I own all of their lip balms, but this is the first lip butter I've bought and I really love it.

Nivea Kiss Of Olive Oil & Lemon Lip Care $2.99
Like I said I love Nivea lip products, I have 5 tubes of the yellow one. I heard about this one a few months ago when MakeupByTiffanyD mentioned it in a video and I'd been searching for it since then and I couldn't find it anywhere, it seems like Ulta is the only place that sells it. Honestly I think I might like this one better than the yellow one, it stays on my lips for hours and my lips feel really soft when I'm using it.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Original $7.99
For years I had put off buying this because I didn't believe the hype, but I finally broke down and bought it and I'm in love! This is hands down the BEST dry shampoo I've ever used.

AG Hair Hair Moisture & Shine Fast Food Sulfate-Free Shampoo $20.00-$50.00
I bought this after trying the AG Fast Food leave-on conditioner, I like that it's sulfate free, but it still lathers up and it's easy to work with, I would definitely repurchase this shampoo.
For some reason I couldn't get the travel size picture to clip to Polyvore, so I had to use the big one, but that's okay cause I'll be placing a new order this week and I'm definitely buying the big one!

AG Hair Travel Size Moisture & Shine Fast Food Leave On Conditioner $3.98
I actually bought this first and I loved it so much I had to try the shampoo too! I love the smell of this stuff and it makes my hair feel so soft, I love it, I'm going to be placing an order for the full size for this one too!

Conair You Style & Protect Hair Dryer $24.99
I bought this at Ulta last month, but for some reason it's now unavailable, but I did find it on Amazon, so I put the link in for that, it's the same price.

Freeman's Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Scrub $4.29
I forgot to put this one in my Polyvore collage, but it was a part of my first order. When I got this I was really excited to try it, but if you follow me on Instagram, then you know it did not end well at all. I had been wanting to try it for months and so I tried it out the night I got it, big mistake! When I bought this scrub I didn't take the time to look at the ingredients list, if I had I would have seen that it has coconut in, which I am allergic to. So sadly this one didn't work out for me, and unfortunately I won't be able to use any other Freeman products because they all have coconut in them.

That's it for today, I hope you all enjoyed this haul! I plan on doing full reviews of some of the products mentioned above, I just wanted to give you my opinion so far on some of them!

Lori

January Favorites

Hello lovelies!
Today I will be sharing with you my favorites for the month of January! This month I discovered new favorites and old favorites!

Here's this months favorites!
Favorite Song: Home by Ingrid Michaelson
Honestly I'm not a huge fan of Ingrid, I started listening to her music a few months ago and this is one of my favorites. I've never really been able to explain it to people, but this song explains how I feel about Nashville. I've always loved Nashville since I was a little girl and when I think of home and where I want to spend the rest of my life, I always think of Nashville.

TV Show: Gossip Girl
I starting watching Gossip Girl for the first time ever this month and I'm really loving it, I started watching it two weeks ago and I'm already halfway through season 2!

Movie: Safe Haven
This was another first for me this month, I had wanted to watch this for a while and once I found it on Netflix I had to watch it and I loved it!

Fashion:
I have two of these shirts, one in a beautiful purple and one in a tan shade and I love them! I bought them in October and they've been my go to for Fall and Winter, I love them so much I can see myself wearing these into the spring!

Skin Products:
I actually have two skin products that I've been loving this month.

I love this hand cream I use it every night before I go to bed, I use it on my hands and it also works amazing on chapped lips, words cannot explain how much I love this product.

Simple Kind to Skin Moisturizing Face Wash
My skin has been acting up a little this month, it's mainly my cheeks right below my eyes, that area tends to get red and dry easily, so I've been using this face wash two or three nights a week and it really helps.

Hair Product: OGX Morrocan Argan Oil
I've been using this oil for about two years now, I go in phases with it where I love it and then I can go months without using it at all. Right now I'm REALLY loving it! I've actually been replacing my conditioner and using this instead. On nights when I wash my hair I only shampoo, and when I get out of the shower I run this through my hair, and I cannot believe how much my hair has changed since I started doing this about three weeks ago!

That's it for today, don't forget to check back tomorrow to see a new blog post!

Winter Essentials

Hello lovelies,
I had been planning on doing this post last month during Blogmas, but it just didn't feel right cause it wasn't that cold. Honestly, I feel like November was colder than December here in Kentucky!

However, that has definitely changed, the new year brought with it bone chilling winds and freezing temperatures! Last week my moms car wouldn't even run, my uncle had to take her to work because everything had froze up in the car!

Now I love Winter, but even I gotta admit that these temperatures are a little too much. Today I thought that I would share with you a few of my essential items for the winter months!

So here's my must haves for winter!
I've been using this oil for about two years and I can honestly stay that it's one of my top 3 products. Recently I've been blow drying my hair more than usual so my hair has been getting dry, last week I popped this on and now my hair is feeling soft again. I go in phases with this oil, sometimes I use it all the time and sometimes I go months without using it, but I always go back to it and I would highly recommend it!

This is my favorite lotion in the world! I have eczema on my hands, I deal with it year-round, but it gets worse during the winter. I started using this lotion a few years ago and I love it! It also works great on chapped lips!
My advice is that you shop around for this, the price at Ulta is $5.29, but I can buy it at my local Walmart for $2.98, so just be careful about where you buy it from. Sometimes if I feel like I need something more I'll add some hydro-cortisone cream to it and it keeps my hands from getting worse.

EOS Lip Balm $3.49
I don't notice a huge difference with this lip balm, but I do like it and I usually alternate between this and the Nivea Milk & Honey.

I couldn't live without my gloves during the winter, my hands are always cold, so I always have a pair of gloves in my bag or in my coat pocket. I really love fingerless gloves because they protect my hands from the cold wind, but I can still do everyday tasks without having to take them off.

I LOVE my infinity scarfs, they're so cozy and warm! This year I've completely fallen in love with scarfs, I used to hate them, but now I love them!

So, there's my Winter Essentials! What are your winter essentials? Do you have any recommendations? If so, leave them below in the comments, I would love to hear from you!

Blogmas Day 12: Over $100 Holiday Gift Guide

Hello lovelies,
Today I'm bringing you my Under $100 Holiday Gift Guide! As of right now, this will be my final gift guide for this year, but if you want to see more, then let me know below and I'll try to do another!

Today I only have 13 items for you, but I think you're really going to like them, so let's get started!

I really like the look of this trench coat, I like more structured pieces, plus it's on sale!

I've never actually smelled this for myself, but I've had it recommended to me time and time again and I really want to get a sample of it to try.

I HATE having, I hate it, if I had $449 to pay for this I would buy it in a hearbeat! When I first saw commercials for the Tria I thought it was just some gimmicky product, but from the reviews I've seen it's actually the real deal, and it's a lot cheaper than other options.

I don't drink coffee often, but when I do I usually only drink one cup and I'm done, so a single serve coffee maker is perfect for me because I hate wasting stuff.

I love this Molten Red color, I've been searching for a coat like this for a while, I just never thought of looking at L.L. Bean for one! Sadly I've already bought a coat for this winter, but next winter I'll make sure to remember this!

Goodnight Macaroon Pearl Diamond Sterling Silver Earrings $118.00
I feel like a nice pair of pearls is a timeless and foolproof gift for women of all ages, this particular pair comes in three colors, white, purple, and pink. Personally I prefer the white, but it's nice to have the option of getting a different color if you wanted something different.

Tuckernuck Bristol Men's Watch Daniel Wellington $229.00
I really like this watch, I think it's very simple and it could be worn by pretty much any guy on your list!

Ann Mashburn Box-Pleat Skirt $225
I really like this piece because it has a classy timeless style and I also really love that it has pockets!

Chi Ultra CHI Orbit 3 in 1 Tourmaline Cermaic Curler $120.00
I really need a new curling iron, I like this set becuase it's the quality of a CHI, but you get three sizes! I think this is definitely worth the price, plus it's easier to store and keep organized compared to three full-size curling irons.

Citizens of Humanity Skinny Stretch Leggings (Axle) $178.00
I really love the look of these leggings, they really do look like jeans, and I love black jeans!

Hunter Sandhurst Equestrian Boots $175.00
When I first saw these boots I didn't like them, but they've started to grow on me, and now I want them!

Clarisonic Mia 3 Replenishing Moisture Cleanse $199.00
I mentioned this in yesterday's post I've had an urge to buy a new face brush even though I really don't need one! But I decided to go ahead and include it to give y'all some ideas!

Urban Decay Naked Vault $280.00
This one really doesn't need an explanation, this is on pretty much every girls 'If I Could Have Anything This Christmas Wishlist'!

That's it for this post, I hope you liked it! My 5 Words for this week will be up in a little while, make sure you read it, I received some of the best news ever yesterday and I talk about it in that post!

Goals for June + New Blog Design

Hello lovelies, can you believe it's already June? It feel like just yesterday I was writing my New Years Resolutions!
So you've probably noticed that once again I have changed my blog design, and to be honest it probably won't be the last time. As you can see below one of my goals this month is to work on a new blog design, so that's what I will be doing this month, I want to find a blog design that I really love that way I can actually keep it for a while and not change it in a few months time!

So there's that, I wanted to give you a heads up, and here's the rest of my goals for June!

FINISH College Prep U.S. History Part 2
Start and finish English 2 Part 1
Finish half of Geometry Part 1
Read a book.
Take better care of my hair.
Spend more time blogging.
Be more involved in the blog community.
Work on a new blog design.
Start working out again.

As you can tell once again my goals mainly revolve around school, but this month I'm also adding in some goals for the blog. For the past month I haven't been as focused on blogging, so this month I really want to put in more hours and focus on creating better content.

I guess that's all for today's post, I'll update you later this month about my goals!

TAG: Would You Rather Beauty Edition

I've been trying to do a TAG once a month, and I recently came across this TAG so I thought I would use it for today's post.  As always I tag all of you, so don't forget to leave a link in the comments so I can see yours too!  I also want to Tag the lovely Elizabeth over at Closer Than Yesterday .

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses, or lose all your palettes and eye-shadows?

I would rather lose all my eye-shadows, cause you can always smudge a colored eyeliner to use as eye-shadow.

2.  Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
   Cut it all off.

3.  Would you rather have a coral cheek or pink cheek?
I always wear a pink cheek, I don't even own a coral colored blush.

4.  If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
   Clothes.

5.  Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
    Eyeliner as lipstick.

6.  Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Definitely Sephora, because they sell my favorite brands.

7.  Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or only one lip color for the rest of your life?
One lip color because I only own one lip color as it is. Carmex is what I wear on a  daily basis, I only wear color on my lips for special occasions.

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?
Summer clothes in the winter, cause you can always add on more layers if you get cold.

9.  Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Dark nails, my go to nail color is black.

10.  Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
Lip product. I could never give up my eyeliner, I love it too much.

11.  Would you rather only be allowed to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
I'd rather a messy bun, and that's because all of my hair would be up and out of my way, especially in the summer when it gets hot.

12.  Would you rather never be able to paint your nails or never be able to wear lip gloss?
Never wear lip gloss. I always have something on my nails, as for my lips Carmex is all I use.

13.  Would you rather shave off all your eyebrows or have to sharpie them in everyday?
Shave them off, they're already so blonde you can hardly see them, so it wouldn't really make a difference.

14.  Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Makeup,  I hardly ever wear it, but I always have my nails done.

Well that's all for today, I hope you liked it, don't forget to follow if you wanna see more blog posts.
                                                                    XoXo,

My Top 5 Beauty Products Under 5 Dollars

Today I thought I'd take a break from doing reviews and do something a little different. I'm going to show you my Top 5 Beauty Products Under 5 dollars.

1. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle  $2.99 at Walmart.
 - This is hands down my favorite conditioner, it's even better than the conditioner my hairstylist uses. Normally I use this twice a week, butvfor the past month I've been using it everyday to prep my hair for the damage I knew my hair would go through last week when I dyed it. I also use this alongside my Moroccan Argan Oil, you can see my blog post about it (here)

2. Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Polish  $2.50 at Walmart.
 - For this one I'm lumping the entire collection together because I love every single nail polish in this line. If you've been reading my blog for a while then you know that I love these nail polishes, I've reviewed many in the past, and I have more reviews coming up over the next few weeks.

3. Wet & Wild Eye Shadow Palette in C246 Greed    $1.99 at Kmart.
  -  This is my most used beauty product, I don't wear makeup often, but when I do I use this palette to do my eyes.

4.  E.L.F Eyeliner Brush    $1.00
 - This is my favorite makeup brush ever, and I use it every time I wear makeup.  I probably have three of these brushes one I use, one as a back-up, and then I cut one into an angled brush.

5. Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner  $4.49 at Walmart.
 - I cannot believe I've lived my entire life without this eyeliner, it is the most amazing beauty product I've ever used. I use this to line my bottom waterline, and I use it to tight-line my upper waterline. Once you put this on your skin it does not budge, and it will not smudge, it is the BEST THING EVER!!!

Well that's all for today, I hope you enjoyed it, and don't forget to follow me if you want to see more.
        XoXo,
                    Lori Ann

Pinterest Finds

Happy Monday lovelies, and welcome to the first Pinterest Finds blog post! Every month is going to be different, some months I may only post one thing I found on Pinterest, and then months like February I might post 5, either way I hope you like it.

                                                    1. This quote from John Green

Via

                                2. These boots from Torrid that I'm thinking about ordering.

Via

                                                                  3.  This photo.

Via

                                                       4.  This picture. The TRUTH!

Via

                                           5. This picture of Demi Lovato's hair in 2010.

Via

I kinda wanna add a little note for #5, about why I decided to add it. I added this picture because this is the picture I took took to the salon last week when I got my hair done (I'll be doing a post about it either this week or next week) .
I had decided that I wanted to cut off a lot of hair, and I wanted to add layers, so I started looking on Pinterest, then I remembered this picture that I had pinned, and I knew it was the one.
Tip: If you can't decide what you want to do with your hair go on Pinterest and type in Demi Lovato aka hair porn queen, I'm not kidding when I say the girl has had every hair color you can imagine, and you will definitely find something you like!

So that's all for this week check back soon for that post about my new hair cut/color, I'm going to try to get it posted this week, but it could possibly be next week.
                                                                                     XOXO,
                                                                                           Lori Ann

February Goals

Last Monday I told you about my new blogging schedule, and so today I will be sharing with you my goals for the month of February. I hate looking back and feeling like I didn't accomplish anything the month before, so that's kinda of why I wanted to start making monthly goals.

  • Lose 2 Pounds.
  • Open a savings account.
  • Finish Spanish 1, Part 1 and Part 2.
  • Start and finish College Prep American History Part 1, and start Part 2.
  • Box up my room, and prepare to move.
  • Get my hair cut and colored.
  • Read 3 Books.
  • Find new words and schedule 5 Words series for the next 2 months.
  • Order a new laptop.
  • Sign up and start preparing for the June SAT.

I wanted to start posting my monthly goals because I think it will help me accomplish everything I want to do this year.
For example in order to prepare for #10 I'm going to sign up to take a practice test.  I get test anxiety, so that's why I want to take a practice test, that way I know what I'm getting myself in to when I take the real test in June.
Most of the others are pretty simple, and others I'm going to have to put a lot of work into, in order to accomplish (#3 and #4).

I'm going to keep you updated about my goals and whether or not I accomplish them, I just haven't decided how I want to do it yet. I'm either going to do a post at the end of every month, or I'm just going to include it in the next months goals post.

Let me know which you would prefer, by leaving a comment below.
                                                                                  XOXO,
                                                                                         Lori Ann

Top 4 Posts of the Year!

It's hard to believe another year has flown by and tomorrow is the beginning of a new year. Originally I was going to do a Top 10 post, but honestly I don't really think I have that many posts worthy of being the a Top 10 list, so I settled for a Top 4 list.
So here are the four blog posts I'm most proud of, and I hope you think so too!

1.) My Online High School Experience
   - If you haven't read this you totally should.

2.) How I Saved My Damaged Hair
  - If you color you're hair often, then you have to read this.

3.)Book Review: Caitlyn Duffy- The Viscount's Daughter
  - This was by far the best book I've read all year, and this post was probably my favorite to write because I couldn't say enough good things about it, it really did touch me, and made me want to start reading more after spending the past year not really reading.

4.) Book Review: Mira Lyn Kelly- Waking Up Married
  - This was the beginning of my decision to change up my blog. It was after this post that I got serious about my blogging, and started to make changes and spend more time focusing on what I was publishing.

As you can tell all of these, are from the past six months, actually all of them except one is from the past three months. The reason for that is because I feel like something hit me during September and October that made me really start trying harder with everything.
Around the first of October I started to get really inspired, I was inspired to become a better person, and to work harder at everything I do. I had always enjoyed blogging, but I never really put a lot of effort into it.
The past few months I've made a lot of changes, and near the end of next month I'll be announcing more changes, that is a promise to all of you. I've already decided what I'm going to do, and I'm really excited to share all of my upcoming changes with you.

Well that's all for the YEAR, I hope you have a good New Years Eve, and please just remember to be careful, and if you're going to be drinking please do so responsibly.
                                                                     Stay Creative,

How I Saved My Damaged Hair

In today's post I will be talking about how I saved my severely damaged hair after coloring it back in July.
First of all this post is long over due, I got my hair colored in July, and that's when I first used this mixture of products to save my hair.

The products in question is the Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle, and the Organix Extra Strength Moroccan Argan Oil.

I started lightening my hair back in February, and I also went in May. During those two trips I didn't really notice much damage, and my hair wasn't dry.
But after I had my hair done in July, it felt like straw, after I got home I started looking online, and I was going to buy a hair treatment, but then I got a brilliant idea.

I decided to mix together my Aussie 3 Minute Miracle, and my Organix Extra Strength Moroccan Argan Oil. I love the smell of both products, and when you put them together, the smell is amazing.
So after mixing the products I got in the shower and used it, I left it on for about 10 minutes.
After I got out of the shower I let my hair air dry, and by the time it was dry my hair looked soft and silky.
I had my hair done in July and then again last Thursday, during that time I only had to use this mixture once, but after getting my hair done I knew I needed to use it again.
So Friday night I mixed it up, and hopped in the shower. Did it work? YES!

Once again it worked, and I'm so happy I was able to save my hair. I've spent so much time and money getting my hair the way it is, I have a panic attack just thinking about having to cut it all off.

So that's all for today, I'll have my usual post up Friday. What do you think of my little experiment? Do you have any hair mixture you would like to share? Let me know what you think in the comments section. Stay Creative my Lovelies, I'll post again very soon.
                                         XOXO,

Weight Loss Monday's Week: 16

Monday's, a day most people like to hate, but I don't. I guess it's because I do school online and don't have to wake up at any certain time. To be honest I've never really hated Monday's.
For me Monday's mean I get to post new material for you all. And that makes me happy, it also means a clean slate. I can forget about the mistakes I made the week before.
So this week I don't have anything planned. I get my laptop back today, and so then I can start back on my schoolwork. I have 6 lessons, a midterm, 4 quizzes, and my final left until I finish this course, so I'm hoping to be done by the end of next week.
My diet has been really good, but I think that's because I've been sleeping a lot. Yesterday I had 2 whole grain waffles, a tablespoon of potatoes, and chicken fries. I also had half of a king size Hershey Almonds chocolate bar, and a handful of Special K Popcorn Chips.
I haven't done so well in the exercise department. Like I said I've been sleeping a lot. And I've also been getting  cramps in my leg and foot, so I've been taking a magnesium supplement for that.
Now that I think of it I do have something planned for this week, I'm getting my hair done. I'm going to continue with the lightening process, and then I think I'm going to have 3 inches cut off and get long layers.
For next week's post I'm going to do my measurements. I said in March I was going to post once a month with my measurements, but I forgot about it last month, so I will next week. And I think there's going to be a difference, I can tell I'm toning up. I don't think I've lost weight, but I think I'm gaining muscle definition.
I did see the doctor last week, and she put me on ANOTHER allergy medicine. So now I'm on two allergy meds, once in the morning and one at night.
So that's all for today, I'll have a new post up for you on Wednesday.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.

3 Things You Should Think About Before....

Hello lovelies,
Today's post is 3 Things You Should Think About Before Dyeing Blonde Hair Brunette.
I'm a natural Blonde, and have had Blonde hair my entire life, but last June I made a decision to go Brunette.
Okay so the left photo is me in October 2011, right after I had my makeup done by a lovely lady at the local Clinique stand. The right picture is me on Thanksgiving 2012.

Sometimes I regret dyeing my hair, but most of the time I'm glad I did it. I regret it because I miss my blonde hair, but I'm glad because I've become more adventurous. Since last June I've changed my hair up multiple times.

I used to be scared to do anything to my hair, I would literally have a panic attack when just getting a trim. In September I got choppy layers, and in October I got bangs.

At times I still regret those decisions but I'm still thankful I did it. I'm not really enjoying growing my bangs out, but who freaking cares, I made a change and I'll probably do it again.

So let's get started on the things you need to think about before dyeing blonde hair brunette....

                                   1. Money- Can you afford regular coloring's?
This was my biggest mistake, I didn't realize how fast my hair grows or how blonde my hair really is, and thought I would be able to continue my regular every 6 month trips. But now I realize I can't, I need to go once a month, but I can't afford it. I've started lightening my hair already, and I hope to be back completely blonde by the end of the year
.
    2.  Time- You need to make sure your going to have the time to go to the salon to get your hair done.

When I went the first time to have my hair dyed dark it took 5 hours to do. The second and third time I went it took about 2-3 hours. So dyeing your hair darker is a very long process, it's nothing like  going lighter. Going lighter you usually spend about two hours in there because of the chemicals in the dye are different from that in dark dye.

   3. Skin Color- Make sure the color is going to compliment your skin color.

I have very pale skin, so pale you can see nearly every vein in my body. So when I dyed my hair I didn't think about how darker hair was going to make me look even more pale than before.
And now that I've started the lightening process I made the same mistake. The picture I showed my hairstylist is that of someone with tan skin, and it looks wonderful on her, but makes me look washed out.

Here is a picture to show what I mean. The left is me before dyeing my hair last month, and it had obvious fading. The right is today, showing what it looks like a month after coloring.
(Also please excuse my awful dark circle's in the right picture, I'm anemic.)
So the point of this blog post is you really have to be careful about dyeing your hair, make sure you talk with your hairstylist to get what will look right on you, not what looks right on someone else.

Okay so that's all for today, I really hope you like it.
XoXo,
 Lori Ann

Hair Care Tips and Advice

Hello there, so a few weeks ago we talked about Skin Care, and this week we're gonna talk about Hair Care. Hair is the only thing that we Women hate, and despise, but also love, that wont ruin our body's. We love it on our heads and hate it everywhere else.
The biggest misconception women have about their hair is that they can make it grow longer, faster. You can't, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we just can't. Just like it's in our genes on how tall we're gonna be, it's also in our genes on how fast our hair grows. We can't change it, not yet anyway.
Our hair isn't living, it's dead. The only part that could even be considered living is what's directly attached to our scalp. But once it leaves the scalp it's dead.
Today I want to give a little advice on Hair Care, share some of my secrets to getting long hair, tell you what products I use, and also a major don't in my book.

1. Don't Get It Cut every 6-8 Weeks- This is the number one thing I've never understood. But in a way I sort of do, hair stylists know that we want our hair to grow fast, so they say to come every 6-8 weeks to get more business. Get It? They only say that cause they know you'll listen, and it means more money for them.
The reasoning behind this theory of mine. Our hair only grows 1/4 an inch a month, your basically going every month and a half. Most hair stylists nowadays don't now the difference between a trim, and an inch. Therefore, it's going to take you much longer for you to actually grow your hair out. I have hair nearly to my bum, and I use to only go every 6 months, this year I've went every 3-6 months.
2. Use Very Little Heat- Or if you do use heat, use a heat spray. I use either Got 2 B Guardian Angel Flat Iron Balm or the Aussie Heat Spray (Not sure of the name). They're both affordable, and work great, the Got 2 B smells amazing, and leaves your hair really shiny. I have naturally really straight hair, so I usually only use a straightener when i'm having a bad hair day, or want it to be even straighter. I also occasionally use a hair dryer, but not very often, maybe 1-2x a month.
3.Diet/Exercise- While you can't make your hair grow faster, you can make it grow healthier. Diet and exercise are very important in your hairs health. Your diet insures you get the right nutrients for strong healthy hair, and exercise helps your scalp/skin rid itself of toxins.
4.Don't Stress- This ties into number 3, when your stressed you don't eat and exercise right. And when you don't get proper diet nutrients, or exercise, your hormones get out of wack. By controlling your stress, you can help control you hormones.
Some say scalp massages help, whether or not they do I have no idea
5.Time- It takes time, just like it took time for you to grow, it takes your hair time too. It's taken me 3 years, and my hair has just now got close to my bum. You have to give your body a chance to produce the hormones, especially if your stressed or your diet/exercise is poor.

So there you go, my 5 tips and my advice for growing your hair stronger. Let me know what you think, and if there's anything you want me to write about, I'm open to ideas. Well that's all for today, have a productive week and a safe weekend.
 xoxo,
 Lori
