Book Review: Nancy Warren - Best Man...with Benefits

Hello Lovelies!
Today I will be reviewing 'Best Man...with Benefits' by Nancy Warren, copy received from Netgalley via Harlequin in exchange for an honest review.

'Best Man...with Benefits' is a contemporary romance novel, it is 224 pages long and it took me about 4 hours to read. It is available at Amazon for $4.49 (KINDLE), and Barnes & Noble for $4.49 (NOOKBook).

About The Book

Genre: Romance

Length: 224 Pages

Publisher: Harlequin

Release Date: June 16, 2015

Book Synopsis
May the best man sin...

Lauren Sanger is practically the perfect maid of honor, except for one tiny flaw. She hates the best man. Jackson Monaghan is beyond hot--his body is the stuff of sexy lady dreams--but he's just such a jerk. So when a prank lands them in the same bed, Lauren should have flipped out, instead of having the best sex of her life with the best man!

Jackson can't figure out how two people with anti-chemistry during the day can have such wickedly hot sexual chemistry at night.Worse still, he wants more. Enough to dare Lauren into doing the last thing she should be doing...him. But friends with benefits is one thing...enemies with benefits is quite another

What did I think?

Like: The timing of the story.
Dislike: Secondary characters, Amy and Seth.

Would I recommend it?
Normally I love a good enemies-with-benefits trope, but for some reason I just couldn't connect with this one. I finished the book and I like it, but I wasn't completely sold.
I liked the main characters, but could not deal with the secondary characters. Thankfully, Seth and Amy only had small parts in the book.

One thing I always love about Nancy Warren is her timing, her stories are always pieced together just right. If you're looking for a quick, flirty and sexy easy read then this is the one for you. It didn't work for me, but I would still recommend it to anyone who loves a fast and easy romance.

Thank you Harlequin via Netgalley for providing me with this book in exchange for an honest review!

Links to Love

Hello Lovelies!
I don't know what happened, but somehow my Links to Love didn't go up last week.
So far August has been pretty good, I've been working a lot, with it being back-to-school time it's been crazy busy!

On top of it being back-to-school time, I'm also cross-training for the fuel station at our store! So I have officially done everything at our store with a register except, the vision center and pharmacy.

Anyway, here's this week's Links to Love!

About The Book

Genre: Romance

Length: 240 Pages

Publisher: Random House Publishing - Loveswept

Release Date: June 14, 2016

Book Synopsis
Ever since she was a teenager, Grace Parnell has had one ambition: to prove her father's innocence and overturn his prison sentence. That drive led her to become a tough, compassionate lawyer - until the case hits a heartbreaking end. Now Grace is adrift, with no idea how to rebuild her life. It's certainly not the time to fall in love. But from the moment she meets Artemis Tanner, their instant connection is undeniable.

A motor-sports pioneer, Tanner has come to this little coastal town for the racetrack- but he's staying for Grace. Even though the standoffish attorney seems determined to stay out of reach, Tanner doesn't need a law degree to tell that their attraction is very, very mutual. As her visits to the track become more frequent, and as Tanner learns more about Grace's troubled family, he starts to pry open the tiny cracks in her controlled demeanor. Hidden beneath, there's an incredible passion waiting to be set free.

What did I think?

Like: Getting to see old characters.
Dislike: That it took me so long to read!

Would I recommend it?
Even though I still haven't read the second book, I can honestly say that this series, just keeps getting better and better. I LOVED the first book and I love this book just as much. It took me way too long to read this book, I pretty much read this book on my breaks and lunch breaks at work.
Mixed in with all the distractions and the days I wasn't able to read, it took me probably a month from start to finish! Overall I would say it took four to six hours, when I'm in the break room I tend to get distracted and have to re-read spots.

Grace and Tanner were very likable character's, the chemistry between them was there from beginning to end!I really enjoyed the banter between Tanner and Grace, and I love that we get to see a peek into the future for the characters in Book #1 and Book #2. These books can be read as standalone novels, but I highly recommend you read them all.

Overall, I love this series and I really hope there's another book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance!

Top 10 Tuesday: Ten Books To Read In One Day

Hello Lovelies!
Top 10 Tuesdayis a weekly link-up hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This Week's Theme: Top Ten Tuesday REWIND

I actually just finished this book, it took me WAY to long to finish, just because I could only read in 15 minute periods. I should have a review up either tomorrow or next Wednesday!

I remember really loving this series, book two was my favorite in this series, so you should check that one out too.

The Boy I Love by Nina de Gramont
I haven't mentioned this one in a while, but I really enjoyed reading this YA novel. It was the first YA book I had read in years and I ended up reading it in one night! Plus I still think it's pretty awesome that because of Top Ten Tuesday, Nina saw where I mentioned her and she sent me the book!

Snowstorm Confessions by Rachel Lee
Let's be honest, pretty much anything by Harlequin can be read in one day. But I find myself thinking and going back to this book pretty often, I really love Rachel Lee as a writer. She is just one of those people who can write an amazing romantic suspense and not make me want to burst into tears out of  frustration and throw my phone at the wall while reading it!

When I had to read this for English in high school I was dreading it, but once I started reading I actually enjoyed it. I really want to find more classics like this that don't bore me to death.

Too Friendly To Date by Nicole Helm
I think this is just such a sweet story, as I mentioned in my review of the book, I'm a huge sucker for a good friends to lovers trope. Also, I just love Nicole Helm, if you aren't following her on twitter you need to be, she's always cracking me up! (@NicoleTHelm )

Okay, so I only made it to six, but I think that's enough to keep y'all busy for a while!

What would you recommend for reading in one day? Leave a link to your blog below and I'll check it out!

Things That Annoy Me: Driving

Hello Lovelies!
As you may know if you're a regular reader I just got my driver's license in March. On top of that, in May I bought a new, used car, I signed my life away for 75 months, three down, 72 more payments to go!

Being a new driver I know I have a lot to learn, I've already learnt so much in the past few months. But I have also noticed a lot of things that really annoy me when I am driving. So when I was brainstorming for blog post ideas, I though why not share my annoying driving things!
1. People who don't know how to use a blinker. This is my #1 pet peeve, I've started getting used to it, but when I first got my license and was allowed to drive alone it really freaked me out. I was so used to having my mom with me when I had my drivers permit, and she would help keep and eye out for stuff like that, now it's up to me!

2.People that text and drive. I hate getting behind someone who is visibly on their phone. Just last week I was headed home in a 55 and the person in front of me was barely doing 40, they were swerving and then I noticed they had their phone in front of their face. It made me so mad because they kept swerving and slamming on their brakes for no reason.

3. Parking! I'm not even gonna lie, I suck at parking, I always have to pull in, then back out and straighten up. I prefer parking lots that have arrows and the slanted lines ( not sure what they're called), it makes my life so much easier. Our old store had that kind of parking lot and I loved it, now our new store has the kind where you can enter anyway and I have so much trouble!

4. Having to get gas. This one isn't too bad, I can handle it, but sometimes my car likes to play games with me, and it's usually when I'm getting gas.

5. People who ride your ass, but won't pass! This is right up there with #1, to be honest I'm not sure which is worse. This one is definitely worse at night, especially if the person is being a first-class jack ass and has their high beams on! If for some reason I have to slam on my breaks and you hit me, I hope your insurance skyrockets!

That's all for today, I hope you all enjoyed the post!
