5 Words: Week 22

I think I can honestly say nothing happened this week, all I did was buy a new pair of shoes. I also got quite a bit of school work done.
So since I have nothing of importance to add to that, let's get on to this week's 5 Words....
Ghilie-  A type of shoe with laces along the instep and no tongue, esp. those used for Scottish country dancing.
Ratchet- A device consisting of a bar or wheel with a set of angled teeth in which a pawl, cog, or tooth engages, allowing motion in one direction.
Cilice- A haircloth.
Ephemeral- Lasting for a very short time: "fashions are ephemeral".
Pious- 1.)Devoutly religious.
2.) Making a hypocritical display of virtue.

So that's all for this week, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.

Review: Revlon Nail Polish in 380 Elegant

Today I will be reviewing a Revlon Nail Polish in 380 Elegant. This was my second time using this nail polish, and I liked it better the second time.

I think the reason I liked it better the second time is because I knew what to expect. I knew I needed to apply 2 coats, instead of one. And to be honest I was expecting it to start chipping immediately like it did the first time, but I've had it on for 3 days and it hasn't chipped at all.

I love the color, I usually stick to darker colors so when I bought this I really wanted a good nude color. I had already tried one that didn't work out well, so I was really happy when I found this one and it gave me everything I was looking for.
Other than really loving the color, I really liked the brush, it was easy to apply, and it dried quickly. I normally always use a topcoat, but I didn't with this nail polish, so I'm really surprised that it hasn't chipped.
Would I recommend it? Yes, I would. I love the nail polish and the color. More importantly it only cost $3.98, that's the most I've ever paid for a nail polish, and I don't regret it.

So that's all for today, I'll have my usual post up Friday. Will you be buying this? Have you tried it already? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,

Weight Loss Monday's: Week 18

Well I finally have made some progress, it may not be much but I lost 1 pound last week. Yay!
It may only be 1 pound, but after being at a stand still for a few weeks this is pretty promising.
I said a I was going to put my measurements in last weeks post but I forgot, so I'm going to do it today.
                                  Measurements:
              March:                                         May:
Bust:         40"                                              40"
Waist:       34"                                              36"
Hips:         45"                                               45"

Sadly I've gained 2" around my waist, but hopefully I will be able to shed that quickly. My diet has been good recently. I haven't been eating much, and I only got to workout twice last week.

      Total Weight Lost: 20 Pounds
Weight Lost This Week: 1 Pound

So that's all for today I'll have a new post up on Wednesday, I'm not sure what. It will either be another nail polish review or a book review, I haven't decided which to post.
Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,

5 Words: Week 21

Looking back at this week it was really hectic, but I can't share any of it with you. The only normal part of my week was going to the Dentist Yesterday.
I'll try to think about it over the weekend and maybe I'll be able to explain in a way that doesn't really give anything away. But for now it's time for this weeks 5 Words...

Ambidextrous- Having the ability of using both hands with equal skill or ease.
Anachronism- Anything occurring or existing out of its proper time.
     Canon- Any rule or law.
Cant- To talk in singsong, preaching tone with affected solemity.
Chasm- A yawning hollow, as in the earth's surface.

So that's all for this week, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,

Review: China Glaze Nail Polish in Man Hunt

Last month I bought my first China Glaze nail polish in, 1070 Man Hunt.  I decided to buy it because everyone is always saying it's amazing quality, but did it live up to my expectations?

To answer that question no, it didn't live up to the hype, but I'll talk about that more in a little bit.
China Glaze nail polishes retail for $7.50, but I got mine for only $1.99. If it hadn't been on sale I probably wouldn't have bought it, I've never bought a nail polish over $4.00, I see it as a waste of money.
I had tried this nail polish last month, but decided to give it a second try to see if I changed my opinion. I didn't. My nails chipped within 24 hours of application, and it wasn't shiny, I guess you could say it was flat.
It also tends to get clumpy, and very messy, but I do like the brush. It is true to color, and dries within 20 minutes of application.
In my opinion I'd say this would be the type of nail polish you would use if you were to only want it on for a day or two, it's not something you could wear for more than 4 days. And while I won't ever be able to wear this long-term I think I will keep it for special occasions.
Do I recommend it? Yes and No. If you want a long wearing nail polish then no, but if you want something for just a day or two then yes I think you would like it.
So that's all for today, I'll have my usual post up Friday. Will you be buying this? Have you tried it already? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,

Weight Loss Monday's: Week 17

Sleep, one of my favorite things in the world, sadly I don't get enough of it.
Yesterday I slept from 3:00 am until 2:30 pm, so of course I barely got any sleep last night. That's my thing I sleep really good one or two nights a week, other nights I go on about an hour of sleep.
I hate cramps and bloating, A LOT. None of my jeans fit, but I guess it's a good thing I don't have to go anywhere this week.
So obviously since I'm bloated I'm not sure if I've lost any weight. Which sucks, but I don't really care right now. Why? Because I feel like there's a million tiny aliens in my uterus stabbing me with knives.
I think I may have exercise twice last week, and there's no hope for this week. So I think I'll stick with just strength training for this week. My diet on the other hand has been really well, I did eat Pizza Hut pizza one night.
Yesterday I did get a lot of sleep, but I didn't eat much. I had 2 waffles, and a can of Spaghetti O's, and probably one serving of Frito's Chili Cheese Flavor chips. I also had a Dr. Pepper.
I also got my hair done last week, it's starting to get blonder. Here is a picture, the lighting sucks and I'm not wearing any make-up, but oh well.
I'll try to put up a better picture soon. But it's looking pretty good. I also got 2 inches cut off and some layers, and I decided to go back to parting my hair to the right.
I like parting my hair to the left and I like trying something new, but personally I don't think I look like me with my hair to the left.
Taking off a few inches and adding in the layers has made my hair feel so light, it's going to be so much easier to deal with this sweltering heat.
I discovered something last week, when a medicine says stay out of the sunlight, it really means it. I have to use a cream on my arms for Dermatitis, and I thought I would be fine in the sun because I was just riding in the car for 5 minutes. Boy was I wrong, my skin started burning, thankfully it went away after I got my arm out of the sun, but I won't be making that mistake again. Lesson learned!
So that's all for today, I'll have a new post up for you on Wednesday.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,

5 Words: Week 20

Today marks week 20 of my 5 Words series, it seems like only yesterday I started my blog. This year seems to just be flying by, and I feel like I've barely accomplished anything.
So enough with that let's get right to this weeks 5 Words....

Fez- A brimless felt cap in the shape of a truncated cone, usually red with a black tassel.
Fief-  A landed estate held under feudal tenure.
Quay- A wharf or artificial landing-place on the shore of a harbor or projecting into it.
Obdurate- Impassive feelings of humanity or pity.
Octogenarian- A person between eighty and ninety years old.

So that's all for this week, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.

17 Random Questions Tag

Today I was reading Bluebells & Owls and decided to do her Tag of 17 Random Questions. She always tags everyone so I will do the same to you. I do believe this is my first tag so let's get started.

1.) How did you get your Blogger username?
- I'm not really sure, it kinda just came to me. I had a name I wanted to call my blog but it was already taken, so I spent some time thinking and Lori's Creative Expressions just popped into my head so I went with it.

2.) If you could change your name to anything, what would it be and why?
- If I could change my name it would Stephanie Nicole. I would choose this name because it's what my mom wanted to call me, but my dad named me while she was in recovery from a c-section.  But I don't think I ever would change my name because I'm just so used to Lori, it's simple.

3.) If you could go back in time and give your younger self advice, what would it be and why?
- I guess I would tell myself to not be so afraid of screwing up and to just be myself. I spent a lot of my younger years trying to fit in with other people, and it just wasn't me. Because of that I lost myself and I'm just now starting to really discover who I am.

4.) How old were you when you first learned to blow a bubblegum bubble?
- I'm not really sure I guess I'll go with age 6.

5.) What did you want to be when you were little?
- I always wanted to be a singer.

6.) What do you order at Starbucks?
- I don't know,  I've never been to Starbucks.

7.) What's the hardest you ever laughed?
- I guess that would be the time I laughed so hard I squirted chocolate milk out of my nose, I've also done that with Dr. Pepper before. My family loves to make jokes or do something stupid when I take a drink and it really hurts.

8.) If you could play any musical instrument, which would it be and why?
- I've always wanted to learn to play guitar, it's actually on my bucket list of things I want to do before I die. I've also recently got interested in piano/keyboards, I love the sound and would love to learn to play someday. But that will have to wait till I move and have room for one.

9.) What's your favorite thing to do when your upset?
- I put on my headphones and blast music. It usually starts with angry music then I'll listen to depressing music. I also like to read, it helps me relax and de-stress. And of course everyone eats chocolate, it makes everything better.

10.) What's your favorite movie?
- I love Drop Dead Fred, Bubble Boy, and Titanic.

11.) What's one food you cannot live without?
- Chocolate. Pickles. Pizza. Pasta. But mainly chocolate.

12.) What's your favorite dessert?
- Every year before Christmas me and my mom make homemade desserts. Homemade Reese Bars, peanut butter balls. And my uncle introduced me to a new dessert last year, I'll make it sometime and share it with you.

13.) Favorite Pizza Topping?
-Pepperoni.

14.) Would you rather have the superpower to read minds, or the superpower to be invisible?
- I would love to read minds because I would know what everyone was thinking and I would know their deepest darkest secrets.

15.) What did you do for your last birthday?
- My Birthday was in March and I slept the entire day and ate chocolate cake.

16.) If you had one personal "selfish" wish, what would it be and why?
- I would want to be a singer in a band so I could travel the world, and share my songs with other people.

17.) If you were a Pokemon what would you be called? What would you look like?
- I don't know I don't even remember how to play Pokemon, I was really into it when I was about 8, but since then I've changed a lot and don't remember anything about it.

That's it for today, I hope you enjoyed this post. Please leave a link to your blog below and be sure to tag everyone you know.

                                                                                Stay Creative,

Weight Loss Monday's Week: 16

Monday's, a day most people like to hate, but I don't. I guess it's because I do school online and don't have to wake up at any certain time. To be honest I've never really hated Monday's.
For me Monday's mean I get to post new material for you all. And that makes me happy, it also means a clean slate. I can forget about the mistakes I made the week before.
So this week I don't have anything planned. I get my laptop back today, and so then I can start back on my schoolwork. I have 6 lessons, a midterm, 4 quizzes, and my final left until I finish this course, so I'm hoping to be done by the end of next week.
My diet has been really good, but I think that's because I've been sleeping a lot. Yesterday I had 2 whole grain waffles, a tablespoon of potatoes, and chicken fries. I also had half of a king size Hershey Almonds chocolate bar, and a handful of Special K Popcorn Chips.
I haven't done so well in the exercise department. Like I said I've been sleeping a lot. And I've also been getting  cramps in my leg and foot, so I've been taking a magnesium supplement for that.
Now that I think of it I do have something planned for this week, I'm getting my hair done. I'm going to continue with the lightening process, and then I think I'm going to have 3 inches cut off and get long layers.
For next week's post I'm going to do my measurements. I said in March I was going to post once a month with my measurements, but I forgot about it last month, so I will next week. And I think there's going to be a difference, I can tell I'm toning up. I don't think I've lost weight, but I think I'm gaining muscle definition.
I did see the doctor last week, and she put me on ANOTHER allergy medicine. So now I'm on two allergy meds, once in the morning and one at night.
So that's all for today, I'll have a new post up for you on Wednesday.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,

It's Friday, Friday, so yeah I can't think of what to put to make that rhyme . Anyway it's time for this weeks 5 Words so let's get started.....

Actuary- An officer, as of an insurance company, who calculates and states the risks of premiums.
Adduce- To bring forward or name for consideration.
Adulterate-  To make impure by the admixture of other or baser ingredients.
Agglomerate- To pile or heap together.
Ambidextrous- Having the ability of using both hands with equal skill or ease.

My Top 5 Favorite Song of the Moment

So I decided today to tell you about my top 5 favorite songs of the moment because I haven't really done this in a while. I know in the past I've linked a few songs on here, but I've never really done a post like this.
Let's get started, and I will warn you now my musical tastes are all over the charts and you will not even begin to guess the 5 song I'm going to post.
    1.) Demi Lovato- Heart Attack
-Okay so this one may be expected because I've talked about how much I love Demi in the past.

2.) Black Veil Brides- In the End
- So you might not expect this one, and neither did I but I really love this song. I love message behind it, and I kinda wanna get a tattoo of a line from this song.
I've been listening to their music for probably about a month and my favorite songs by them are 'In the End', 'Carolyn', 'Ritual', 'Saviour', 'Lost It all', 'Morticians Daughter', 'Never Give In', and 'Set the World on Fire'.

   3.) Skid Row- Wasted Time
- I actually have Black Veil Brides bassist Ashley Purdy to thank for introducing me to Skid Row. I seen a video of him singing a song of their's and I fell in love instantly. So I looked them up and I immediately bought 3 songs on iTunes, I have ' Wasted Time', 'I Remember You', and '18 and Life'. I love all the songs, but at the moment 'Wasted Time' is definitely my fave.

  4.) Love and Theft- Runaway
- I first heard this song while watching CMT probably about 3 or 4 years ago, I'm not sure exactly when it came out. But I've listened to it over the years and it's always been a favorite of mine, and I actually rediscovered the song last week and decided to buy it on iTunes.

5.) Tate Stevens- Power of A Love Song
- When I first heard the title of this song I was expecting it to be a really slow country song, and in the beginning it kinda is, but then it starts to speed up and I really like it. Tate Stevens was the winner of Season 2 of The X-Factor, and I knew the moment I saw him audition that he would be the winner.
He just released his debut album and I would really recommend you by it he worked with some really amazing songwriters on this album, and I know in time he's going to be a big country star.
Though I must say it kinda pisses me off that Simon Cowell is spending more time promoting his little boy group that only made it to third place and isn't promoting Tate.

So there's my 5 favorite songs of the moment, I hope you liked this post, and let me know what you think of my interesting choice of music in the comments below.
That's all for today, I hope you enjoyed this post. Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,

Weight Loss Monday's: Week 15

So it's Monday again, and I'm really excited because I get to see my baby cousin today. My mom and I usually babysit her everyday, but her mom took her to the mountains for a vacation and I haven't seen her in a week.
Other than that I don't think I'll be doing that much this week. I'm just going to focus on my school work (stupid Algebra), and try to get my classes finished.
Last week I did really well with my diet. I didn't eat much, I had two whole grain waffles for breakfast every morning, and  2 big pickles for lunch. Dinner was roast and potatoes one night, then pizza, we had tacos, and then chicken the rest of the week. And again for a second week in a row I didn't eat much chocolate, I think I had maybe half a bag of chocolate.
I think I did well with my exercise last week, I'm slowly trying to get back on my squats and weight lifting routine. I will probably go back to the gym next week, this week I'm going to focus on other health related issues.
On that note on Friday I told you that I had something health related to tell you today. So last week I had blood work done because I had a test come back with extremely high levels two weeks ago three weeks ago when I was in the hospital, so they wanted to repeat it. It went down but was still higher than it should be. So it's a wait and see game they'll repeat the test in a few weeks.
They also tested my iron levels and I'm still anemic. I told you back in March that my iron levels were low, well now they are extremely low, so I have to start taking an iron supplement. I've had to take an iron supplement in the past and I didn't like it, and  if you've ever had to take one then you know why.
So that's all for today, I'll have a new post up for you on Wednesday.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,

5 Words: Week 18

Normally I have something to say on Friday's or I'll give you a little recap of the week, but this week I don't really have anything to say. And anything I could say really should go in Monday's post since it's health related.
    So here's this week's 5 Words.......

Vagabond- A wanderer.
Oakum- Hemp- fiber obtained by untwisting and picking out loosely  the yarns of old hemp rope.
Quixotic- Chivalrous or romantic to a ridiculous or extravagant degree.
Leviathan- Any large animal,  as a whale.
Hexapod- Having six feet.

Okay so that's all for this week, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,

Review: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Extreme Wear in Gunmetal

Okay so it's been a few weeks since I last did a nail polish review so I thought why not today, I was going to post this yesterday, but we had a major internet outage and so I couldn't.
Today I will be reviewing the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Extreme Wear in Gunmetal 310.
So as you can see it does have a bubbly appearance, but that is my fault, it isn't the nail polish. I was in a rush and applied to many coats in too short of a time period. I've had this on for about a week now and as you can see it still looks great. There are a few chips, nothing major, and of course you can see where I've picked at the top half of some of my fingers.

What I love most about this color is that it changes color. When you glance at it sometimes it looks gray, silver, black, or maybe even blue. But that's what makes me love it so much.
As usual I love the quality of the product, I've said it before I'll say it again, I love the Sally Hansen Extreme Wear Nail Polishes.
I would definitely recommend you buy this, it lasts for so long, and is only $2.50. Also Walmart is finally carrying it again, it had been months since I had seen them on Walmart's shelves and then I looked and they were back.
So that's all for today, I'll have my usual post up tomorrow. Will you be buying this? Have you tried it already? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section.  Stay Creative my lovelies, I'll post again very very soon.
                                                                                                 XOXO,
                                                                                                     Lori Ann
