May Goals Updates

Hello lovelies, I hope your having a great day! Today is not going to be a good day for me, I have to go to the doctor, and I also have to go to AT&T because last night some asshole decided that they wanted to hack my iPhone! So yeah, I'm not looking forward to today, but I'm gonna put a smile on my face and deal with it.
For now, here's an update on this months goals.

Finish Algebra 1.
Finish College Prep U.S. History Part 2.
Start my Geometry class.
Sign up for the June ACT.
Study and take a practice for the ACT.
Clean out my closet.
Join the gym.
Lose 2 pounds.
Narrow down my list of colleges and Universities I want to apply to.
Search and apply to new scholarships.

I accomplished 7 out of 10 of my goals, and I'm really satisfied with myself. This month hasn't been the easiest, I've been dealing with some health issues and so hopefully next month will be better.

Finish College Prep U.S. History Part 2.
I really wanted to finish this course this month, but for the first half of the month we had issues with out internet. Last Monday, the cable company finally sent someone out and we needed a new modem, so they switched it out and now I'm finally starting to get back on track.

Join the gym.
Like I mentioned in Monday's post, I wasn't able to start working out this month due to issues with my knee.

Lose 2 pounds.
I'm not too sad about this, I did manage to lose one pound this month, so I'm pretty happy with that.

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with myself this month, May was definitely full of up and downs and I can definitely say I'm ready for a fresh start in June!

How did you do with your goals this month? Let me know below or leave a link to your blog post about it!

Beauty Products to Try

I've heard great things about these products and I hope to try them all eventually!

I first seen this in a interview a few years ago where Renee talked about Demi Lovato using this and ever since then I've wanted to try it.
I discovered this a few years ago while reading an article about cystic acne and I've been dying to try it. Then a few months ago, Renee did another interview about Demi where she mentioned that this is another product that Demi uses to keep her skin clear!
I haven't looked into this as much as the other products, but from the reviews I've read this seems to be a really good product.
I've been considering buying this recently because as the weather has warmed up I've been having a lot of breakouts and my face has been getting oily more quickly.
I have super dry lips so I'm constantly trying new lip products, I haven't tried this yet, but as soon as I find a job and have money to splurge I'm definitely going to try it!

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know below!

May Weight Loss

Hello lovelies, I hope your day is off to a great start! I don't really have much to say today, so I'm just gonna get started with this months update.

Diet:
My diet has been up and down all month. Not really good, but not really bad, and that's really all I can say about it!

Exercise:
Well my plan for this month was to get back in the gym, but it didn't work out that way. The day I was planning on going to the gym to get signed up, I woke up with a swollen and sore leg. So I called my doctor and she said that I needed to stay off of it, and let the swelling go down, so that's what I've been doing.
Since I haven't been able to go to the gym I decided to get my weights out and I've been doing a lot of upper-body weight training and exercises. I can tell a little difference in my arms, but I know that in order to get the results I want I need to get back in the gym. I think I'm going to the doctor this week so I'll find out then if she thinks it's okay for me to start working out at the gym.

Weight Lost This Month:  1 Pound
Total Weight Loss: 7 Pounds

I"m so happy that I've lost weight, it might just be one pound, but it still means a lot to me. I know that probably sounds weird, but I'm just really happy.

So that's all for today, I know for sure I'll be posting tomorrow, but I'm not sure about Wednesday yet.

Lori

4 YouTube Videos

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite YouTube videos. Originally I was just planning on this being just a normal blog post, BUT then I got an idea, and I decided that I'm going to make this into a series.
As of right now it's not going to be weekly, and probably not even monthly, but I definitely want to share more posts like this, so I'll try to make a YouTube Videos blog post every few months.

1. Happy Wake Up

2. Father Goes Into Baby Crib

3. If You Like Cute Dog & Baby Stuff You'll Love This...

4. 10 Hour Chicken Song

The fourth video nearly killed me, I was dying laughing at midnight, while trying not to wake my mom up!

What are some of your favorite funny and cute videos? Feel free to share them below, I would love to watch!

Dressing Like a (Young) Professional

Last year after I turned 16 I decided I wanted to get a job to save some money for college. Well that didn't turn out as I planned, I applied, and applied, and applied some more, but nothing.
So I stopped looking.
In March when I turned 17 I decided to start looking again, and so far I still haven't found anything, I've turned in about 10 applications and I still haven't heard anything yet, but I still have hope that something will pop up soon.

While filling out these applications, I started thinking about the future, and about what I want to do after I graduate high school. I know I want to go on to college, I'm just not sure what career path I want to go down.

(I'm thinking about majoring in Psychology with a minor in History.)

After I started thinking about all the different career choices, I started to think about the different work environments, and workplace dress codes.
Then a little light bulb flashed in my head, I knew immediately that I wanted to make a blog post about this.

Recently I've been trying to do more fashion-y type blog posts so I thought this would be the perfect excuse to do a fashion post.

I tried to incorporate different styles, to suite different careers. You can't wear dresses in all careers, and you can't wear a pantsuit in others, every career and workplace is different, and that's great!

Now that I look at it, I realize that the third set is kind of all over the place, but that's okay!

My favorite set out of the three is definitely the first set. I used to hate dresses and NEVER wear them, but for the past year I've kinda become obsessed and I want to buy every dress I see (but I don't).

Anyway that's all for today, I really hope you like it, and let me know what you think below.

5 Things You Should Start Making Time For

Okay, so I still didn't finish my book, so no book review this week either. But that's okay I always make sure I have a little somethin' waiting around to be posted just in case.

I made this list, 5 Things You Should Start Making Time For, a few weeks ago, and I've been wanting to share it with you, but I hadn't found the right spot. Since it's now been two weeks and I still haven't finished my book, I'd say I definitely need to make time for #3!

I think #1 is really important because society and the media is always telling us to do for others before ourselves. But I think it's really important to take time to care for yourself, because if you don't then you're going to end up sick, tired, and burnt-out (burned-out??).
So that's all for today's post, let me know what you think in the comments! What do you think people should make more time for?

May Playlist

Happy Monday lovelies I hope your day is off to a great start! Today I have a lot to do, I kinda took a break over the weekend, and so of course now I'm off schedule, and I'm not happy about it!

Over the past week I've been listening to a lot of music about heartbreak, but I've also been mixing it with inspirational songs. So this months playlist is a mixture of depressing and inspirational songs, kinda like my life!

By the way, I totally just realized that I spelled Kelly Clarkson's name wrong! Oh well, screw it!

So that's all for this months playlist. What have you been listening to recently? Let me know in the comments!

Spring Accessories

Good morning lovelies, I hope you're all having a great day!
A few months ago I made this, but I forgot about it, and I never finished it. So last week when I was playing around on Polyvore I found it in my draft box, and I decided it was time to finally finish it.

Spring Accessories

I've been looking for a new phone case and I'm seriously thinking about ordering this Kate Spade iPhone case. But I'm also thinking of waiting till August when the new iPhone comes, I'm due for an upgrade, and I really need more storage.
I think I'm going to wait on the phone and instead buy the these Kate Spade earrings.
To be honest I really don't know, I'm sure I'll make up my mind, eventually!

Well that's all for today, I hope you enjoyed my picks for accessories this spring!

Looking for Guest Bloggers!

Today I was planning on posting a book review, but I didn't finish the book I was planning on reviewing so I'll post it next week.
This month is going to be very busy because I'm studying for the June 14 ACT and I don't have much time left to prepare.
I've been trying to schedule posts ahead of time so that I don't have to worry about getting blog posts out on time, but to be honest it's starting to pile up, I'm starting to get behind and it's stressing me out!

I've never done this before, and I decided that it was time to bring in a little help. So if you want to be a guest blogger send me an email ( loriboyd15@gmail.com ) and we'll talk.

As of right now I'm thinking I'll need 4-6 blog posts or guest bloggers. If you want to write more than one blog post, just let me know, I don't mind.

Later this year, probably around September/October, I'll be retaking the ACT and SAT, and I'll probably need help then too, so I'll let you know then if I do.

I wanna go ahead and say thank you to anyone who volunteers, I really appreciate the help.

Lori
