Links to Love

Hello Lovelies!
It's hard to believe it's already June 24th, I feel like the past month has just flown by and I haven't accomplished anything.

The past few months have been rough, but the past month has been the worst of it. Death, car wrecks, work drama, when it rains, it pours! Thankfully after next week things should start to calm down. I know I've mentioned work before, but I don't think I've ever actually said where I work.

I work for Walmart and right now we are all under a lot of stress. We are moving locations, our current store shut down Tuesday and we opened our new store Wednesday. I'm not gonna lie, the past month has been completely insane, but it's finally over and I can't wait to be able to get back into my old routine.

I gotta say I'm gonna miss our old store, it's bittersweet, this is my first job, and I have a lot of memories in that store. But I gotta say our new store is amazing!!!! It's huge, clean, beautiful, words cannot explain how happy I am with our new store.

20 Before 20

Hello Lovelies!
Well, what can I say, the fact that my birthday was in March and I'm just now posting this isn't very promising...

I was looking through my drafts today and I realized that for some reason I never posted my 20 Before 20 list!
Plan a trip.
Visit somewhere new.
Read 20 books for pleasure.
Purchase my first pair of high heels.
Lose 30 pounds.
Get my nose pierced.
Get a small tattoo.
Buy a new car,
Start apartment hunting.
Pay off my credit card debt.
Save $400.
Start college.
Maintain a good GPA in my first semester back in a traditional school setting.
Visit a trampoline park.
Go to my first concert.
Be able to run a mile.
Get a real haircut instead of a trim. (Maybe go red too!)
Say yes more!
Actually do what's on my list!

I'm gonna try to do an update in a few months to show my progress, I've actually crossed a few off already! It's go time! Can I complete my 20 Before 20 challenge before March 13, 2017!
Have you attempted a challenge like this before?

Book Review: Protection Detail by Shirlee McCoy

Hello Lovelies!

Today I will be reviewing 'Protection Detail' by Shirlee McCoy, copy received from Netgalley via Love Inspired Suspense in exchange for an honest review.

'Protection Detail' is a romantic suspense novel, it is 288 pages long and it took me about 6 hours to read. It is available at Amazon for $1.99(Kindle), and Barnes & Noble for $1.99(NOOKBook).

About The Book

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Length: 288 Pages

Publisher: Love Inspired Suspense

Release Date: March 3, 2015

Book Synopsis

After a prominent senator's son is murdered, Capitol K-9 Unit captain Gavin McCord wants answers. The senator was a mentor to Gavin, and he'll stop at nothing to bring the killer to justice. With his team of elite K-9 cops and his loyal dog, Glory, at his side, Gavin discovers that a child at Cassie Danver's nearby foster home may have witnessed the murder. He's drawn to the determined and beautiful woman, but she doesn't want him interviewing her traumatized charges. Yet trusting Gavin is the only way to stay one step ahead of the deadly gunman when Cassie becomes a target.

Capitol K-9 Unit: These lawmen solve the toughest cases with the help of their brave canine partners.

What did I think?

Like: Almost everything.
Dislike: I hate not knowing who the murderer is. Too many unanswered questions.

Would I recommend it?
I really enjoyed this books, the characters, the plot, the suspense. The romance between Gavin and Cassie was very sweet and actually very believable. There were a few moments where I wanted to roll my eyes, but I still loved the romance between them.

However, because of the ending I'm not too happy with the book, but
at the end of the day I enjoyed the book more than I hated it. I hate that I have to buy five more books just to complete the story, but it is what it is. I'm a book lover and eventually I'll buy them and I'm sure I'll enjoy them too.

Overall, I would recommend it if you have the money to spend on a total of six books. If you don't have the money I would say stay away because this is a very catchy story, I finished it last night and  I need more!

Thank you Love Inspired via Netgalley for providing me with this book in exchange for an honest review!
Will you be buying this book? Let me know below!

Links to Love

Hello Lovelies!
Sorry this is a day late, I had to make an unexpected trip to Evansville yesterday. Even though it was unexpected, I'm actually really proud of the trip because it's the first time I've ever drove in a city. It was also the first time I've drive over a big bridge. Can you believe I made it and I didn't even take any anxiety meds beforehand?

The trip up wasn't bad, I had no problems. However, the trip back was a complete mess. Google maps wanted me to come back going by the riverfront, but there was construction and they had the road closed, then every time I tried to get it to reroute it kept taking me back to the riverfront. Finally I decided I was going to go back and try to take the Lloyd Expressway to get back to where I needed to be.

Well, that didn't happen either because the ramp going east was closed off for construction too! Instead I just decided to keep going straight, I figured eventually google maps would get it's shit together and quit rerouting me to the riverfront. It didn't!

Finally, a few miles later I got to the end of the road I was on and I knew where I was and how to get home. And of course that's when Google maps decided to start working!

May Goals

Hello Lovelies!
I cannot believe I haven't posted a monthly goals in months! Actually, I can believe it. I didn't realize until yesterday that I only posted Links to Love and Weekly Inspiration posts last month.
Anyway, here's my goals for May!

Read 3 books.
I've been slacking in the reading department, so maybe this month I can get back to it.

Write 5 blog posts this month.
Last month I posted five times, but I only posted Weekly Inspiration posts and Links to Love. I didn't have any real content. I want to do my best this month and try to branch out.

Get back to blogging.
I want to get back into all things blogging. Reading other blogs, commenting on other blogs, link-ups, posting more, etc.

Work on Blog Design.
I still haven't got my blog design fixed from my major screw up a few months ago.

Finish my FAFSA.
I know, I know, I'm late on this one, but I already had the financial aid office at my local community college tell me that I won't qualify for any free money, my only option is loans.

Send in my high school transcript.
Now this is an easy one.

Work on managing my anxiety.
Here lately my anxiety has been acting up a lot. I'm hoping that this month I can focus on learning to manage my anxiety.

Lose 2 pounds.
I've been going to the gym for a little over a month now and I can feel myself getting stronger and I love it!

Buy a new pair of shoes.
My current tennis shoes are worn out, between working 8 hour shifts on my feet and going to the gym 4-5 times a week, I need a new pair.

Find a new car.
Let's be honest my Suzuki sucks, it's time for a new car.
