August Goals Update

Hey y'all, I hope you're having a great week! This month has been crazy, with me moving, not having internet, and being sick I really didn't accomplish everything I wanted to accomplish.
However, I will say one thing I'm proud of is the fact that I finally finished my new blog design. I started working on my blog design back in June and it's just been all over the place.

Over the past few months, I've experimented with a lot of different colors, backgrounds, and headers, but in the end I realized that a simple white background is what I love best. I also designed a blog header that I really love and I installed blog buttons that were super easy to install!

So what do you think? Let me know below what you think of my new blog design!

Sign up for the September 13 ACT test date.
Review Algebra 1 Part 1 & Part 2 and take final exam!

Find a Neurologist and schedule an appointment.
Lose 5 pounds!

5 out of 10!

Review Algebra 1 Part 1 & Part 2 and take final exam!  &  Start and finish English 2 Part 1 & Part 2
This month I actually took a break from school. It wasn't intentional, but it was a much-needed and well-deserved break. I've been working all year long and I haven't taken any breaks, I've even worked through holidays and weekends! So this month was my break month, I started back on Monday and honestly I feel so much better, my brain really needed a rest!
Obviously I didn't get either school related goal done but I'm okay with that. I also found out I won't be able to start working on my next English class quite just yet. I was hoping my school would let me start working on my English class while I finished up my other classes, but they won't, so it looks like September will be Algebra and Geometry month! Yikes!!!

Start working on admissions essays.
I also didn't get to start on this, not having any internet for pretty much the entire month has really screwed up my plans, so I think I'm going to start writing my essays this weekend.

Plan Nashville trip.
No internet= no planning getting done!

Lose 5 Pounds!
Ha! I knew this was a long shot when I made this goal, I just didn't realize how impossible this was going to be this month. Between moving houses and also being in bed sick for two weeks, I didn't lose a pound.

Sp that is all for this months goals update, I hope you enjoyed it!

Book Review: Lindsey Brookes - Loving Ellie

Today I will be reviewing 'Loving Ellie' by Lindsey Brookes, copy received courtesy Netgalley.

'Loving Ellie' is a Romance Novel, it is 251 pages long, and took me about five hours to read. And it is available at Amazon for $2.99 (eBook) and at Barnes and Noble for $11.75 (paperback).

Book Stats

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Length: 251 pages

Release Date: February 10, 2014

Book Synopsis:

Ellie Sanders is pregnant and alone. Carrying a child she'd conceived the one and only time she's lain with her closest friend, Jarrett Tanner. A man she's agreed to marry for the sake of their child. A man she'd loved, but not as he's deserved. And now he was gone.

Lucas Tanner returns home to settle his younger brother Jarrett's estate only to discover his brother left behind a very pregnant fiancee. Having lost his own wife and their baby she'd been carrying years before, he's bound and determined to stick around and make sure Ellie's child makes it safely into the world. Even if it means facing the ghosts of his past.

Struggling financially and emotionally, Ellie is torn between keeping her baby and giving it up for adoption. She wants to give her child the chance she never had - to be raised by two loving parents. If only she could make Lucas understand. And, if only she wasn't falling for a man with no heart left to give.

Lucas finds himself wanting more. Wanting Ellie. But what if he gives in to his deepening feelings and loses her, too?

One fears abandonment. The other fears loss. Can Ellie and Lucas put their painful pasts behind them and finally find true happiness? Or are the emotional walls they've built up around their hearts too strong to tear down?

So what did I think? 5 Stars

Like: That there was no mention of technology.
Dislike: Nothing.
Age Rating: 15 and up.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, I definitely recommend reading this book, once I finally started reading it, I couldn't put it down! I think this is a book that people who like romance novels, but don't like the sex scenes and all the other stuff that comes with most romance novels. This is a very clean romance novel, there is no mention of sex nor is it implied.

When I first saw this book on Netgalley I knew immediately that I wanted to read it. After I downloaded it, I let it set for a few days before I started to read it, and because of that I forgot what the book was about and I had no way of finding out, so I read on. Once I got into the book I remembered which book it was that I was reading, and I was immediately happy.

My favorite thing about 'Loving Ellie' is that it doesn't rely on constantly referencing to today's technology, books, music, products, etc. I feel like this is a book that could be read a hundred years from now and the reader isn't going to be wondering what the heck the characters are talking about.

Even though I ended up using all of the data on my phone to read this book and got charged $15 for another GB, I definitely think it was worth it to get to finish reading this book. I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait to read more books from Lindsey Brookes!

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with this book in exchange for an honest review!
Will you be buying this book? Let me know below!
